Our world

A workshop, not a factory

Two people. Vlad cuts the amber in Ukraine. Nataliia runs the shop from Britain. There is nobody else, which is why a reply sounds like a person and why some weeks are slower than others.

It started at ten years old

Vlad has been interested in amber since he was ten. Not as a business — as the thing he picked up, held to the light and wanted to understand.

He still studies it. Amber is a soft, organic material with no two pieces alike, and anyone who tells you they have finished learning how to work it is selling you something. Every batch teaches him something about how far a stone can be pushed before it decides otherwise.

Provenance

Legal, documented, and slower for it

Amber in Ukraine has a difficult reputation, and it is deserved. A great deal of it is dug illegally and sold without paperwork. Vlad spent years getting to the point where none of that applies to us.

This is the least visible thing about a piece of amber and the most important. It is also why we will never be the cheapest — documented stone costs more than stone that arrived from nowhere.

Wholesale for years. Retail since 2025.

Until 2024 Vlad worked wholesale only. The pieces went out by the box to people who resold them, and his name never travelled with them.

In 2025 he and his sister Nataliia sold directly to a customer for the first time, through Etsy. She builds the shop, answers the messages, handles sales in the United Kingdom and is putting the name together. He stays at the bench.

This site is the next step: the same work, without a marketplace standing in between.

What we will not do

  • we do not sell copal or plastic as amber.
  • We do not photograph one piece and send you another. Every listing shows the actual item.
  • We do not make health claims. Amber is beautiful and it is ancient. That is the whole of what we sell it as.
  • We do not mass produce. Some weeks there are twelve new pieces, some weeks there are three.
